The Andrews Partnership 2024 Insights Wrap-up
The end of the year is a busy period but — once the dust settles — it can also be a chance to reflect and prepare for the year ahead. Here are the best of our 2024 insights, wrapped for you.
Are you looking forward to some well-deserved downtime at the end of the year? Perhaps it feels like you’ve faced one storm after another or been asked to do more with less.
You’re not alone. This year has been defined by overlapping environmental, geopolitical and societal challenges — often referred to as “polycrises.” As a result, resilience has become a vital skill, as highlighted in our 2024 CA Leaders Report. On a positive note, the report shows 55% of CA leaders have experienced an increase in their CEO’s confidence in the function. While this recognition is positive, it can bring even more responsibility and closer scrutiny.
We explored actionable strategies for CA leaders to strengthen organisational, functional, and personal resilience.
>Find out why resilience is the foundation of thriving CA leadership
In this shifting context, managing reputational risk remained the number one priority for CA leaders. In Australia, cyber security threats loomed large and attendees at our Sydney roundtable discussed the key tactics where CA should proactively focus to avoid reputational damage.
>Learn how CA leaders can prepare for and respond to cyber breaches
In Asia, changes in political leadership and the implications on the CA function were discussed at our roundtable events in Singapore and Jakarta. Leaders emphasised the importance of agility and (there it is again) resilience to navigate an uncertain geopolitical landscape.
>Why geopolitical expertise is a must for CA leaders in Asia
In India specifically, the rise of digital transformation, regulatory changes and stakeholder expectations has reshaped the CA landscape, demanding innovative engagement strategies. Garima Singh, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at United Breweries, shared her insights and predictions for the future.
>Explore Garima’s five trends reshaping CA in India
Government Affairs has evolved dramatically across APAC and beyond over the last decade and experienced GA leader Dom LaVigne shared his take on how far the function has come and what the future holds.

The speed of technological change gathered pace in 2024 with AI’s influence on the comms function being described as “radical and profound.” We were delighted to host a webinar with Steve Clayton, Microsoft’s Vice President of Communications Strategy on harnessing AI for content generation, message testing and more.

Used in the right way, AI can help CA leaders elevate and future-proof their roles as they focus more time and energy on strategic issues. Sustainability can also be a game-changer for leaders looking to grow their influence and remit, says Roger Sharp, Chief Sustainability & Corporate Affairs Officer at BUPA APAC.
>Learn Roger’s strategies for embracing sustainability as a career catalyst
Last but not least, Stephanie Roberts, Head of Global Communications at Hitachi Industrial Equipment Systems, shared her tips on building a career in comms. Although she acknowledges that resilience is key and the profession isn’t without its challenges, she firmly believes the future is bright.
